Sustainability
This look started with a bag of discarded items from oldnet curtains to old plastic mannequins and robe. Using the materials inunexpected ways the concept of a broken bride was born. From the discardeditems to a discarded bride the garment was brought to life with the settingmake up and photoshoot. Finding joy in what things could be is where the lovefor upcycling starts.
The Shades of Lilac dress started with an old table cloth as the base and scraps of purple fabrics.
The scraps were turned into little circles, and the edges were burnt to create flower petals.
Five petals created a flower with a beaded centre. Individually Hand sewn the Shades of Lilac dress was born.

SS23 A Thread in Time collection is made from upcycled knitted jumpers. Found at second-hand stores, the garments were then taken apart into their pattern pieces and created into new garments. The knit structures were unravelled by hand to create this shredded effect. The outerwear jacket was created from designer fabric remnants I already had from a previous project. Even the undergarments are upcycled from an old stretch shirt and have their own beauty and drape that is unique to the set. The beauty of this is that this garmentcannot be replaced and is a unique piece.
